Little Brother

This home was built as an investment with two Airbnb rentals packed into one home. This mountain site offers opportunities above and below.

The main living area has a welcoming open concept floor plan. Whether it’s dinner parties with friends or movie night, this home is perfect for entertaining. In addition to the kitchen island seating there are built-in benches for additional seating around the dining room. Poplar wood harvested on site was used to create these custom built-in benches as well as the entertainment area and planter partition.

This wood was also utilized in a master bedroom feature wall behind the bed while Black Gum trees harvested on site were used on the master bedroom floors. The master bedroom has it’s own deck overlooking the blue ridge mountains. The master bathroom offers a spa experience with body massage sprayers and a ceiling mounted rain shower. In addition, there is a soaking tub that is perfect for unwinding. Both levels have their own laundry room.

The second Airbnb is on the lower level which offers a kitchenette, spa steam shower and two bedrooms connected by the kitchen, dining, living area. The bottom level connects to a covered patio where you can relax and enjoy the views.

Not only is the layout of this home unique, so is the water source. This is one of the first homes in Buncombe County to completely rely on rain for its sole source of water. Further explained in this article, the home features a 12,000 gallon above ground cistern which utilizes a German designed 2-stage filtration system and UV lighting. This holds enough water to supply two rentals.
