This west Asheville basement conversion transitioned from a failing foundation and crumbling concrete slab to a cozy guest quarters and studio.

The renovated space features an engineered foundation with a new radiant heated slab and windows for added light. Reclaimed red oak was used throughout the project along with old heart pine materials that were salvaged from the home.

A newly-built deck off the main house above created a dry covered porch below. The porch has a small bar and plenty of room for entertaining while staying connected to the lower level.

The existing brick piers and the reclaimed elements gave this renovation an old world feeling.
